Dear Newly Elected Officials…

May pangarap kami. Lahat kami nangangarap.

Dear newly elected officials,

We once had a dream – a dream that we will prosper, that we will have bright futures. But, there came a time when we were let down, we were fooled, and the more we drowned, the more we suffered, and the more we were given false hopes. We hoped, but slowly, we began to lose our belief that our dream once upon a time will become reality. We hope that now, we will no longer be offered false hopes and that our dream of prospering will finally be fulfilled.

They still want to dream... please give them a reason to do so.

We hope that they will no longer fool us. Life’s hard; dreaming is hard. We know that dreams do come true, but it’s just that there are some people who won’t let us have our dreams come true because they’re greedy and they are heartless. We hope that those people won’t be you, newly elected officials. We believe that you have a heart and you care for this country – we hope that we are right in this belief because we don’t want that even in believing, we are wrong.

Offer Filipinos something better than this

We have a dream. We are all dreaming. I know you are too. We hope that you will be the ones who will give our lifelong dream its reality. We know it’s difficult, that’s why we’re going to help each other out, but you are the only ones who can start because you are our leaders. Show us that you will be the ones to fulfill that dream. Even just in sometimes.

Even just now.
