No wonder Amanda was somewhat missing in action for quite a while both in the movies and on television. I think the project where I saw her last was on Sydney White, and after that, she just somehow disappeared from entertainment.
Like, whatever happened to the Nickelodeon baby Amanda Bynes?
I think we all remember her on “All That” and later on in “The Amanda Show” where she showed some real potential for comedy. Few years after that, she started doing films – some of the most notable being “What A Girl Wants”, “She’s The Man”, and “Hairspray”.
And just recently, she announced her retirement from acting! At 24 years old! Looks like we’ve got a new age boundary for retirement. At 65, you can announce your retirement for obvious reasons, and at 24, you can choose to be a young retiree especially when you have been included in Forbes’ list as one of the highest paid celebrities under 21 (and you’re placing fifth).
So, is Amanda too young to retire? Honestly, I was saddened when I first heard about her retirement because I think she’s really one of the good ones in Hollywood. She really had the comedic factor in her. A natural comedian and an amazing actress. She was born to make people laugh.
But, I respect her decision to stop acting because she doesn’t love it anymore. Maybe she doesn’t enjoy it as much as she used to. And yes, when we don’t love something anymore, we should stop doing it. So, good luck Amanda with whatever you’re planning to do after your acting career! You left us with dozens of good old memories of yours to remember.
Thank you for all those wonderful years of funny lines, Amanda! You rock girl! And have fun with your retirement!
“I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I’ve #retired.”
Oh, we’ll remember that, Amanda. It’s not everyday that we hear actresses in their 20’s retire, you know?
