Once again, the Twilight team proved that this year is another Twilight year at the MTV Movie Awards where they snagged a total of 5 wins and showcased a gay kiss, courtesy of Robert Pattinson and the star who plays his archenemy, Taylor Lautner. Thank you for giving us yet another awkward moment at the show, RPatz, but it looks like Taylor didn’t like your lips so much after he had to wipe your saliva off his juicy lips when you left him shocked (or grossed out).
Hosted by the funny (or not so funny) Jason Sudeikis, the 2011 MTV Movie Awards proved that a great talent without a super intense fan base won’t get one a popcorn statue to put on display. Sorry Natalie Portman, but while you are one hell of a spectacular ballerina psycho in Black Swan, Kristen Stewart seems to have owned that stage with a golden popcorn in hand for the Best Female Performance category. Not that I’m saying she gave the best acceptance speech, right Ms. Emma Watson? Your shaking of the head says a lot, Hermione, and well, it pretty much sums up my emotions at that point.
Although I do not exactly agree with the results, even raising my eyebrows on some and saying “seriously?” once in a while, I understand that this awards show is based on voters’ choice, so to each his own. Some are deserving, some may be not. In our hearts, we know which stars best deserve the praises and to be handed trophies to. Everybody’s got their favorites. Every person’s a critic. Therefore, in awards show that are based on fan votes like this, we can only clap our hands and accept the results with a smile. We don’t speak for the whole world after all. As heartbreaking as it sounds that Black Swan didn’t win a single category and Inception and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 each took home only one trophy, I am happy though a little bit disappointed but not surprised with the proclaimed winners of this year’s MTV Movie Awards. As you could probably guessed, most of my bets didn’t make it to the stage. Nevertheless, I’d like to share with you who I rooted for. Did you root for the same nominee as I did or did yours make the acceptance speech?

Who’s winning the Golden Popcorns next year? Will Twilight dominate again? Or will it be the Harry Potter year?
